Can you hear the sarcasm in the title? If not, read it again and you'll most surely hear it!!
She was only a tropical storm, but omg, she left behind one hell of a mess!!!!! She came through on a course she wasn't supposed to and hasn't done a dang thing she's supposed to do since! We got plenty of wind from her since her "eye" wasn't all that far away from where I live. Rain....wow did she dump rain! The ground is so full up with water it can't hold anymore and it's still raining. We have water coming up through the baseboard in our dining room, the wall that faces outside. We keep putting towels down to soak up the water and a couple of hours or so later, the towel is dripping wet. We throw them in the dryer to dry them and rotate the towels we have. I really, really hope the rain stops soon so things can dry out. We'll have to call the landlord because the baseboard will most likely have to be ripped out and replaced. I'm all too familiar with water and mold! I've lived in Florida all my life and our last house was full of mold. Water was coming up through the edge of 2 walls there and after awhile, mold began forming on the baseboard.
There were quite a few tornados. Once touched down in our county doing damage to a gas station and flipped a truck over with the driver in it. Luckily he walked away unscathed. One county up from us, St. Lucie, got severely flooded. There's still standing water everywhere and it also flooded out a lot of homes. People were using canoes to get around because the water was 2-3 feet deep in a lot of spots.
We have more rain coming tomorrow too. *sigh* I hope it's the last day cause I'm getting so tired of it and even more tired of sopping wet towels!!!!!
