Shanni has caught a couple of lizards recently. Thankfully I saved their lives and they were able to get away. One that she caught yesterday she tried to eat!! UGH! Hubby made her drop it but she just pounced right back on it, so he grabbed her and she dropped it again. Talk about a pea brain!! The stupid lizard wouldn't run away, it just sat there on the concrete! Hubby finally had to just pick it up and toss it over the fence. That was a brown one which seems to me to be the very small brain ones of the bunch. We have these pretty bright green ones and they are so fast!! They also can get away from shanni too. LOL Today she went from trying to nab lizards to nabbing worms! I thought at first it was a lizard tail that she grabbed but when I bent down to look at it, it was a little baby worm!! It was soooo cute! Ok, yeah, I'm weird like that. I think worms are cute. *smiles* Daughter and I took it outside the fence. I dug a little bit into the dirt and deposited the little cutie in it's new home.
Speaking of worms. Holy cow I saw the King or Queen of all worms about a week ago. I was excavating around this big shell in the dirt by the gate. When something came flipping up out of the dirt and scared me half to death at first. I didn't know what the heck it was. I had to dig it out again though because it had burrowed back into the dirt. I finally get it to the top again and here is this really fat worm about 3 inches long!! It's the biggest one I've ever seen in my entire life! I've seen a lot of worms but never that big. That was definitely a neat experience. Even though it was so big, it was still cute.
I'm very disappointed that no more squirrels have ventured back this way in so long. They are truly the highlight of the day. I suppose with all this rain though that they're just staying holed up rather than risk coming out only to have to run for shelter when the skies open up again. Maybe I'll send them a telegram or something asking them to stop by and tease shanni. *giggling*
